PDO threads have been around since the 1980s, mostly used in cardiac surgery because of the safety of the suture absorbing overtime. Most recently these sutures have been used to rejuvenate and lift sagging skin. A minimally invasive procedure wherein temporary sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible "lift" in the skin. and stimulate collagen. We use one of only two FDA approved Class II PDO threads on the market for aesthetics, VSoftLift.
Ask your Practitioner if PDO threads are right for you. For best results we recommend 2 to 3 treatments per area. Prices may vary depending on the amount of threads used per session.
These threads are 100% Polydioxanone which is a clinically proven bio-compatible and bio-absorbable material that is already widely used in medical suturing.
For the face, these would be lifting of the eyebrows, naso-labial folds marionette lines, cheeks, jawline and double chins.
For the body, good results are achieved with tightening of loose skin on the arms, thighs and abdomen.
There is an immediate improvement seen after treatments with a visible lift in the areas treated and often times when used to treat acne scarring. This will improve over a period of 2-6 months as new collagen grows between the threads and gives further lift and tightening to the skin. The PDO threads gradually dissolve over about 6 months, but the resulting lift and scarring improvement remains.
The time of your procedure will vary based on many factors—such as the size of your treatment area—but typically takes between 30 and 60 minutes.
After receiving a local anesthetic, PDO threads will be inserted using a micro-needle or cannula. PDO thread lifting is a very customized procedure, and your Practitioner will work closely with you in order to achieve optimal results. Also worth noting is that PDO treatments doesn’t involve any sort of incision, meaning stitches are not required.
